DISTILLING HEAD - AUTOMATIC

This head is designed with a tilting funnel that receives the condensate from the condenser and normally returns the liquid to the column. A glass-enclosed iron core attached to the funnel may be energized by an external solenoid at timed intervals to tip the funnel and deliver the liquid instead to a product receiver.
The head is completely vacuum jacketed, and the jacket is partially silvered to improve the accuracy of temperature measurements and minimize heat transfer.
The head has outer member at top, for connecting to condenser. Inner member at bottom for connecting to distilling column, and 18/9 ball joint for take off. The side well has a 10/30 outer member to receive a thermometer calibrated for 75mm immersion
